Maldives, December 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Sun Siyam<\/u><\/a> has announced a landmark step in its sustainability journey with the rollout of one of the largest solar energy initiatives in the Maldives hospitality sector.<\/strong> The project, unveiled during a dedicated event at Sun Siyam Olhuveli on December 6th<\/sup> 2025, marks a significant milestone in the group\u2019s long term commitment to renewable energy and environmental stewardship. The event welcomed Maldives government officials, local press, trade partners, and members of the group\u2019s sustainability and management teams, who were given an exclusive first look at how the solar installations will transform energy consumption across the resorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Annual diesel savings:<\/strong> USD 1,292,289.12<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Annual CO<\/strong>\u2082<\/strong> reduction:<\/strong> More than 4,458 tons<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Energy offset:<\/strong> 17 percent at Siyam World and 12 percent at Sun Siyam Olhuveli<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These reductions directly support the Maldives\u2019 target of 33 percent renewable energy penetration by 2028<\/strong> and its long term Net Zero 2030<\/strong> ambition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
